All the trails are in perfect running condition after the recent cold weather! Forestry have re opened all way marked trails ready for the weekend. No diversions or closures in place. Dean Trail Volunteers will be working on the new top section of Launch Pad on Saturday morning, but hope to have it ready to ride for Saturday PM. Mini Downhill have a race here on Sunday - the Ski Run Downhill will be closed for the day for non race competitors. Have a good weekend!
Road Diversion. The road between Lydbrook crossroads and the cycle centre has been closed due to a damaged water main. There is a diversion in place (if you are coming from the North) through Broadwell. Just follow the diversion signs which will add 5 minutes to your journey. If you are coming from Monmouth, turn right at the Nissan Five Acres Garage and follow the road over to broadwell. Turn left down the hill (direction Cinderford) and you will pick up the signs to the cycle centre. Again it will only add approx 5 minutes to your journey. We have been advised that the road diversion will be in place over the weekend with work on the water main looking to be finished on Monday.
From 12th September tree harvesting will be carried out in the area around the Cycle Centre as part of the Forestry Commissions normal forest management. During this time, trails will occasionally be closed or diverted during weekdays only - Forestry Commission have given us the following statement - but please check in regularly for updates on this page and our Facebook feed. We hope to open trails and close others as harvesting work progresses but we will always keep at least 2 downhill and the Verderers trail open. We aim to keep disruption to a minimum and keep you informed of closures. All trails will be open as normal on weekends but there maybe some tree brash or damage to the trails. Please help us by adhering to all signage and harvesting staff during this period so we can get the trails open as quickly as possible. Please check the FC website for updates.
