There is a great weather forecast for the Bank Holiday Weekend and we are expecting to get pretty busy with bike hire. We recommend booking your bikes online using the button at the top right hand side of this page. There will be bikes available "on the day" but we can't guarantee we will have everything you need...so get in early! Trails are all in excellent condition - a little bit of rain last weekend has dampened down the dust and consolidated recent work on the trails. Family Trail (11 miles, traffic free)- dry and smooth. The ramp off the bridge has been resurfaced and the rest of the trail is superb. Verderers - (7 miles blue grade) - fun, fast and furious. Best condition the trail has been in for ages. Freeminers - (7 miles red grade) - a great challenge offering everything the FOD is famous for! Downhills - all in great condition. Check out the new berms at the top of Sheepskull - courtesy of our staff dig night last week.
During the Autumn (early September onwards), tree harvesting will be carried out in the area around the Cycle Centre as part of the Forestry Commissions normal forest management . During this time, some of the trails will be closed for use. The Forestry Commission will try to keep most of the trails open and the disruption to a minimum, keeping you informed of which trails will be closed. Please check the FC website and our facebook site for updates.
There is a road closure on the B4234 between Parkend and Cannop Ponds until September 2016. If coming from the south follow Fancy Road up the hill from Parkend and then turn left towards Speech House. This will add about 5 minutes to your journey.
