The Forest of Dean offers a vast range of trails for the more adventurous rider. On the escarpment to the rear of the cycle centre can be found a myriad of single tracks through the trees. Interwoven with these tracks are the waymarked Free-Miner's and fantastic new Verderer's Trail.
There are also testing downhill trails for expert riders, definitely not for the faint hearted.
If you wish to wander further afield there are many miles of stone track ranging across the huge forest expanse with stunning views of the Severn Valley as it rolls to the sea. Downhill and Cross Country Tracks Map pdf

The Free Miner Trail (formerly the FODCA) is graded RED on the CTC classification of cycle trails. Designed, built and maintained by volunteers in partnership with the Forestry Commission, this challenging and varied single track (4.5Km) can offer something to even the most demanding of riders, from tricky switchback climbs to rooty drops and hairpin bends. It is for experienced riders only and is suitable for off-road quality mountain bikes.

Verderer's Trail
Widely aclaimed as the best new trail in Britain, the Verderer's incorporates fast, flowing flat out corners, big berms and rollovers. Graded BLUE (11Km), but with some tricky challenges, the trail gently winds uphill before a swooping, flat top section and a brilliant descent on the Dragon's Tail that will have you hooting and hollering all the way back to the cycle centre. Smiles guaranteed - or your money back!

Check out the brilliant new Verderer's Trail footage from TrailCrew here or click on the YouTube video of the Dragon's Tail.
