A Perfect day out with the kids
Looking for things to do with the kids? The Forest of Dean Family Trail is, quite literally, the perfect place in Gloucestershire for a day out with the family or a gentle cycle with friends. It’s a beautifully tranquil place to spend your spare time. It’s safe too. The 11 mile (17km), traffic-free trail explores the quieter parts of the forest, using old mining railway tracks and forest roads. Accessed directly from Pedalabikeaway, the green graded Family Trail is rideable by all ages and abilities.
It gently follows the Cannop Valley before climbing gradually through ancient oak and beech woodland to Drybrook Road Station.
If you’re lucky you may spot some of our resident wild boar and roe deer populations, or even an elusive goshawk, before descending to the picnic spots at Cannop Ponds and back to the cycle centre.
We have a massive range of bikes of all shapes and sizes, plus all the accessories (including kids seats, tagalongs, trailers and electric bikes) to ensure the whole family can get out and enjoy the forest together.
