All the trails are open for the bank holiday, and the trails have never been in better condition at this time of year.
Forecast is dry for the whole weekend here ; )
Family cycle trail has been partly resurfaced and there is an amazing new cafe at Mallards Pike. A short diversion of the family cycle trail, why not stop by the lake for some coffee and cake!
Verderers Blue MTB trail is dry and dusty and running fast!
Freeminers is best ridden in drier conditions, so if you've never ridden it, now is the time to do it!
The advanced skills area ad pump track is perfect for a pre ride play, and all 10 downhill lines are open with uplift service for those that don't want to ride to the top!
Enjoy the school holidays
** Never had it so good!
27th July - All trail open, and if anything could do with a bit of rain to dampen down all that dust! Didn't think we would be saying that.
The dust does mean that you are both travelling faster and there is less grip than normal, so take care on the descents and corners!
Family Cycle Trail - All Open, no diversions, but why not make one to our brand new cafe at Mallards Pike Lake? It's just off the main loop.
Downhill Lines - All open. No diversions
Verderers Blue MTB Trail - All open, no diversions
Freeminers Red MTB Trail - All open, no diversions
** Delays at Monmouth/ Race on Corkscrew
Due to the Monmouth Festival this weekend, there are delays around Monmouth on the way to the Forest of Dean.
It is quicker to carry straight on on the dual carriageway and come off at the Goodrich/Hereford turn off. Head passed Goodrich over Kerne Bridge, then through Lydbrook to the Cycle Centre.
Their is a race tomorrow (Sunday 8th) on the Corkscrew Track, so this is closed for the event. All other trails are open, and the forecast is cracking again!
** Best we’ve ever had!
Trail conditions are currently the best we have ever had in recent memory! Dry, dusty and fast!
All trails are open and are in superb condition.
Just watch out as you'll be descending faster than you think, and the dust doesn't always have as much grip as you think!
Make sure you you take plenty of water with you for the hot weather, or why not stop at Mallards Pike for a refreshment halfway round the family cycle trail?
** Make the most of the good weather! 8th May
All the trails have dried out beautifully over the last week, and are now running fast and dry! Come down and make the most of the fantastic conditions.
The bluebells are in bloom around the forest, making it the best time to come and ride the family trail.
All the trails are open. Small diversion during the weekdays on the Verderers trail between markers 52-54 for some felling.
** Looking good for the Bank Holiday – 3rd May
Forecast is looking good for the bank holiday, so it will be the perfect weekend to get out and explore the Forest!
If you need to hire a bike, then please make sure you book ahead online by the night before.
All trails will be open, and everything is drying out nicely! We even spotted some dust tonight.....!!!!!
Bluebells have started to come out around the family cycle trail, making it a very picturesque ride!
See you soon
Gareth and the team
** All open if a little damp
Things were looking so promising for the weekend. For late night opening last night we were riding in the dust! A little wetter today, but meant to be drying out for the weekend.
There is still loads of great cycling to be had in the Forest of Dean.
Forestry have finished the felling work, so the blue Verderers trail is back open with no diversions. All other trails are fully open.
There are 2 events this weekend. Tredz have a demo event on site tomorrow (moved from worcester lodge due to a wet field) and there is a Horse riding event on Sunday. Please be aware that you may see some horse riders on your travels!
Our outside cafe Pedalabiteaway will be open both days 10-3pm for Pizza and great Coffee, and the main cafe will be serving the usual great food.
See you over the weekend.
** The sun has got his hat on….
And the trails are drying out rapidly! We're expecting a busy weekend with a (mainly) dry forecast so make sure you book bikes in advance.
The 1st summer MIJ downhill race is happening on Sunday but all trails except Endo will be open as normal. Can we remind all competitors and spectators to park in the overflow carpark.
** Road Closure 9th April
