Mountain Bike Coaching in the Forest of Dean

WyeMTB offer a progressive coaching pathway. Starting with the basic skills needed to ride in an off road environment all the way up to hitting jumps and drops. All sessions are run by British Cycling qualified mountain bike coaches
Finding Your Feet – Core skills to tackle the fundamentals of mountain biking
FOD Flow Part One and Two – For the progressive beginner
Logical Progression – Honing those essential MTB skills before tackling the big stuff
Steep and Natural – Gnarly skills without the big jumps!
The Good, the Bad, the Ugly: Jumps and Drops Build your confidence on table tops, jumps and drop-offs

Guided Rides

We offer three styles of guided ride across the forest of dean and South Wales.

Uplifted guided rides in our Landrover Defender, taking the pain out of the climbs, but all the thrills of descending some of the best descents South Wales has to offer.

E Bike guided rides based across the Wye Valley and the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Traditional group guided rides around some of the best off road routes South Wales offers.

Educational Courses

WyeMTB is an accredited National delivery centre for British Cycling, this means our British Cycling tutors deliver the full Mountain Bike Guide training and assessment on behalf of British cycling. We also train and assessment the new Mountain Bike Coaching work force. Could there be a better company to trust those training needs we, a business who trains the coaches

WyeMTB also offer kids coaching for your little rippers! From 5-14 years old.Weekly term time member sessions from beginners to advanced DH, and holiday sessions for all levels (non-members welcome)

6 weeks of learning

Delivered by British Cycling qualified coaches and runs in 6 week blocks focussing on progressive skill development.  We run beginner, intermediate, advanced and advanced DH levels.

The sessions are split into two main parts:

  1. Skill session – focus on core mountain bike skills from effective braking, cornering, body position, line choice, front and rear wheel lifts, manuals and even jumping the bike!
  2. Applying the skills on the trails – taking the kids out on the mountain bike trails and putting their new found skills into practice.

There is currently a waiting list to attend the club, however, WyeMTB also run non-member sessions:-

  • Monthly girls-only sessions
  • Holiday sessions for beginners and intermediates
  • Fodders Academy
  • DH Development Camps
  • Teen DH
