Will Haines and Billy Pugh competing with Little Fodders in 2015

Original Little Fodders Compete at Junior World Championships!

This weekend the World Cup Downhill rolled on to Leogang in Austria. If you’ve never been, it is one of the most scenic venues on the World Cup circuit, with some incredible trails to ride too!

Two local riders raced in the Junior (U18) category: Will Haines and Billy Pugh. They finished 18th and 36th consecutively from a field of over 100 riders – a fantastic result. Many of you will know that we sponsor young Will Haines, (while Billy is on the YT team), but what you may not know is that both of these riders also started out with our Little Fodders MTB club at Pedalabikeaway!

This summer the Little Fodders club will be 10 years old, and it’s amazing to see the first tranche of our junior riders progress to such a high level. They have a great role model too – Charlie Hatton, current World Champion, a Forest of Dean local and one time Pedalabikeaway race team rider as well!

The club was never about producing future World Cup riders, but more to give kids a healthy life long passion for bikes, and hopefully some skills that stay with them into adulthood. If you have a spare 20 minutes next weekend, watch out for the World Cup in Val di Sole, Trentino, Italy (on Discovery + and Eurosport) or join us in the back room at Cycle Centre to give our boys a cheer!
